One of the most valuable experiences I have had is the opportunity of interning and working in the PR field.  Being afforded the ability to learn from professionals in the field, having hands-on experience and watching the daily roles within the PR world has provided me with knowledge I would never obtain in a classroom.  Working with organizations within such diverse fields truly provided me with the ability to challenge myself and think outside of the box.  I look forward to continuing to add to these experiences as throughout my career.


The PR Net

I am proud to have been selected to work with The PR Net as their intern this fall. The PR Net is members network of influencers working at leading brands and agencies within the lifestyle industries providing a platform featuring events, jobs, news, profiles, and other content.

Working with their team, I am tasked with completing the following tasks each week:

  • Organize and manage high-end lifestyle, fashion and culinary event listings for clients

  • Maintain extensive media lists, venue lists and influencer lists

  • Summarize/recap events while providing proper exposure to select brands and influencers

Skirt PR

The summer of 2019 led me on a journey to Chicago where I had the great fortune to working for Skirt PR as a Super Intern. Skirt PR is a public relations agency which focuses on the fashion, beauty and lifestyle sectors; providing publicity, influencer management, social media and event services to their clients.

I worked heavily with influencers and media relations to support clients such as LaCroix, Clearasil and Patricia Nash. This provided me with invaluable experience during my daily responsibilities to include:

  • Managed multiple social media and influencer campaigns

  • Designed, organized and distributed influencer mailers with over 200 boxes per campaign

  • Created multiple media and influencer lists and developed relationships with each contact

  • Tracked and analyzed social engagement and feedback from campaigns and organized results into a monthly recap for each client

  • Coordinated product photo shoots and created promotional materials

  • Created multiple press releases, pitches, blogs, and engaging promotional content

 

Tara, INK.

During the summer of 2018 I had the pleasure of being accepted to intern at Tara, INK., one of the nation's premier boutique PR firms. Working in the office located in Miami, Florida I was exposed to all of their divisions: fashion and beauty, hospitality (hotels, restaurants, nightlife and spirits) and real estate, art and design. Working directly with their PR professionals I was tasked with exciting and demanding projects for high profile clientele. 

Some highlights of the assignments I was tasked with include:

  • SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS: assisted in developing campaigns that were creative and out-of-the-box

  • LIVE EVENTS: organized the logistics and participated in live events for clientele within the hospitality and fashion fields

  • PRESS RELEASES: created press releases and pitches for clients

  • SUPERVISION: tasked with supervising a team of 6 interns, monitored productivity and provided assistance in completing projects

 

Blink Beauty Studios

SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST:

After consulting with the owner of B.B. Studios, she advised she was looking for ways to increase business through her Instagram page and also looking to re-brand her online image. 

To accomplish the goal of increasing client interaction, I implemented the following changes to their Instagram page:

  • Designed the posts so that the page was more visually appealing by using a grid theme

  • Customized hashtags relevant to both the post and the business to attract local clients and college students

  • Creating posts that included both photo and graphics to provide variety and complement the new theme

Within a three month time frame, increased client interaction 300%

PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN:

During the fall 2018 semester I was offered the position of Public Relations Intern. In addition to continuing to promote their Instagram page, I worked under the Marketing Director on projects such as:

  • Grand Opening of new location - created promotional materials, Instagram promotions, coordinated media coverage, creation of media advisory and press release

  • Create PR campaign for current promotions and assist in product launches 

  • 1st Annual Fashion Show - provided suggestions for theme, created mood boards to highlight creative options to best incorporate their brand and worked with Marketing Director on the intricacies of the show.

 

New Dimensions Chiropractic Center

I began working with NDCC as an intern during Spring of 2017 and was asked at the end of the internship to return on a part-time basis for the center once summer had ended.  Having the ability work for Dr. Lewis for 11 months provided not only a great learning opportunity but also allowed me the ability to create social media posts and promotional material independently which helped me to grow creatively.

Some highlights of the work completed during this position includes:

  • Designed weekly social media content for Facebook and Instagram

  • Monitored social media trends and implemented new strategies to promote business

  • Consulted with Dr. Lewis and updated website content, added blogs and customer videos

  • Created brochures, flyers and promotional materials

  • Created video testimonials

  • Attended wellness events to attract business

 

Unique Communications, Inc.

I was offered an intern position during the summer of 2017 in order to assist the company with creating a social media presence and to re-design their outdated website.

During this internship, I was tasked with working on the following:

  • Creation of a new website for their partner business, Channel Networks which included creating site content and updating product lines and brochures for customer use

  • Established a social media option to allow customers to interact through Facebook and suggested promotional campaigns to target new business

  • Updated flyers and brochures for distribution

As a contributing writer for the website, I was asked to compose articles during the 2015 NFL Football Season for the Philadelphia Eagles.  Articles were geared towards the football enthusiast and included game highlights and stats.  Articles were published on the website and social media sites.
